Welcome to VLIR-HUT Institutional University Cooperation Program. (VLIR-HUT-IUC Program)
The relationship of Flemish Universities with Hanoi University of Technology dates back from before the present VLIR-HUT-IUC program. This kind of program is the continuation of precedentedly fruitful collaborative achievements. An agreement was signed between Hanoi University of Technology and the Flemish universities to run a VLIR-HUT-IUC program for a first period of 5 years (1998-2002). On the basis of productive achievements and outcomes, a second and final cooperation program was also signed for another period of 5 years (2003-2007). With a budget of about 15 million Belgian Francs (about 372,000 Euro), the VLIR-HUT-IUC program was conceptualized as a project limited in scale as compared to the other institutional cooperation program with universities in different parts of the world.
This program is regarded as a new form of cooperation entailing the establishment of long term relationship between Flemish universities and HUT as one of the priviledged partner institutions in a developing country. Such a program will contribute towards institutional consolidation and an improvement in the general way in which local university institutions work.
