  1. Producing technology of new materials: composite, ceramics, super pure oxides, and electrode materials etc.
  2. Catalysts in petrochemistry and organic synthesis, catalytic reaction, dynamics and  mechanism.Chemicals serving the exploitation and processing of gas and crude oil.
  3. Upgrading the quality of products from traditional materials. The effective use of natural resources in Vietnam.
  4. Research on designing of machines and equipment in chemical and petroleum industry.
  5. Synthesis of fertilizers, pesticides for agriculture, Pharmaceutical products
  6. Mechanism, kinetics, optimization and automation of chemical processes. Application of computational engineering.
  7. Study of standardization of industrial construction and architecture in tropical climate.
  8. Upgrading the quality of printed matters. Treatment of photographs using digital technique.
  9. Chemistry and technology of processing solid fuel, coal and by-products.
  10. Study of corrosion and protection of metals.
