HUST has 67 undergraduate disciplines, 33 postgraduate disciplines, 57 PhD disciplines, 14 faculties and 7 institutes. Annually, HUST admits:
Undergraduate
- 3,700 students for regular courses at university level
- 2,500 students at college level
- 2,000 in-service training students
- 500 second-major students
- 500 students following international training programs
Postgraduate
- 1,000 – 1,200 master students
- 60 – 70 PhD candidates
HUST studies and applies the Party and Government’s policies on education and training in an active and creative manner. HUST develops its training size gradually to provide technical human resources for the multi-sector economy by diversifying training forms and opening more majors. In addition, HUST innovates its training objectives, curriculum and methods and improves its management to ensure high quality.
After 50 years of development, HUST has provided 110,426 engineers and bachelors; 3, 041 master degree holders; and 372 PhD degree holders working in different areas such as trade, industry, defense, security, ministerial management and others. Many of them have become key scientists, high ranking managers, leaders of enterprises, leaders in many Party and government agencies.
